Diwakar “Dan” Maharjan – Chief Master

When my students begin their taekwondo training, I like to see every one of them become better in their lives; better than Instructors, better than Masters, and better than me.

Chief Master Diwakar “Dan” Maharjan started his training in Nepal in 1982. He is a national coach in Nepal and the United States. He has developed national, international, and official Asian world Taekwondo champions and has taught the Royal Nepal Army Tribhuvan Club team. He is Senior Vice President and Referee Chairman of the US World Class Taekwondo Association. He has been honored with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023 in the USA.

Chief Master Dan also has a certified International Senior Master License issued by the World Taekwondo Headquarters – Kukkiwon, Seoul, Korea; is a certified World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) 1st Class International Referee, Korea & completed the WTF Training Camp for the Beijing Olympics; was Awarded National Instructor of the Year 1998, USA, by United States Taekwondo Union (Member of United States Olympic committee) and is Referee Chairman, USA Taekwondo Oregon; Founder, President & Chief Master of Maitri Taekwondo Dojang (Nepal) since 1990; and Tournament Director for the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships (IOFTC) since 2000.
